Cookie policy
This policy explains how PingBlitz uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) on pingblitz.com, the PingBlitz application, and any related services we offer. It is published alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we handle your personal data more broadly.
By using our site, you agree to the use of cookies as described in this policy, except where you have opted out of optional cookies via your browser or our cookie controls.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login state) across pages and visits. We also use related technologies — including local storage and session storage in your browser — for similar purposes. Throughout this policy, "cookies" includes those technologies.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the site and the application to function. Without them, you cannot log in, navigate the application, or use core features. We do not need your consent to use these cookies, but you can block them in your browser — though parts of the site will stop working if you do.
Functional cookies
These cookies remember your preferences and settings — for example, which monitors you've added to your dashboard, which client groups you've created, or which alert configuration you've chosen. They make the application usable.
Analytics cookies
We currently do not use third-party analytics cookies. If we add product analytics in future (for example to understand which features are used), we will update this policy and provide a way to opt out before doing so.
Advertising cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not sell or share your data with advertising networks. We do not run ads on PingBlitz.
3. Specific cookies set on your device
The cookies and similar technologies set when you use PingBlitz are listed below. The specific names may change over time as our service providers update their tools, but the categories and purposes will remain the same.
| Source | Purpose | Category | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clerk (auth provider) | Maintain your login session, secure session validation | Strictly necessary | Session + 7 days persistent |
| Cloudflare | Site security, bot protection, traffic routing | Strictly necessary | Up to 30 days |
| Paddle (checkout) | Process payments and prevent fraud during checkout | Strictly necessary | Session + persistent for fraud prevention |
| PingBlitz | Remember dashboard preferences (e.g. selected client filters, monitor sort order) | Functional | Up to 12 months |
Some of our service providers may set additional cookies under their own privacy policies. You can read them directly:
4. How to control cookies
You can control cookies in three ways:
Browser controls
Every modern browser lets you block, delete, or restrict cookies. The instructions vary slightly by browser:
If you block strictly necessary cookies, the application will not work — you won't be able to log in or use most features.
Third-party opt-outs
You can opt out of specific service-provider cookies by following the links in section 3 above and using each provider's controls.
Do Not Track
We honour Do Not Track signals where technically feasible. Because PingBlitz does not currently use any analytics or advertising cookies, this is largely automatic.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service or the technologies we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will tell you when. Material changes will be communicated to logged-in users by email and via a notice in the application.
6. Contact
If you have any questions about how PingBlitz uses cookies, or want to exercise any rights under UK or EU data protection law, contact us at hello@pingblitz.com.
